Over time handrails become worn for a number of reasons, including friction and exposure to changing heats. This can affect performance and comfort for users, and in some cases if they become severely worn or unreliable, can give the wrong impression about your business.
The solution can be to modify handrails, depending on their condition, or to book in repairs. Repairs for escalator handrails include diagnosis of the issue, the fix, buffing, adjustment and cleaning.
Installing new handrails can be a complex progress depending on the length required and whether it has been spliced at the factory or is open ended and needs to be spliced on site. We are adept in either case, and can advise on the proper cleaning and storage to ensure longevity.
As part of the installation process, we will set the correct tension (preventing over-tensioning) and will recommend a handrail suitable for application.
